The winter season gets underway this weekend in Portimão, and the team is ready for its first competitive outing with the new Dallara 326.
GRS Team will compete in the 2026 EuroCup-3 Spanish Winter Championship with Yani Stevenheydens and Gianni Giovanelli as its driver line-up. The winter championship marks the beginning of a new era for EuroCup-3, with the three rounds preceding the main season set to play a key role in gaining experience and adapting to the new Dallara 326, a significant challenge for both drivers and team personnel. The season kicks off this weekend, on February 21–22, at Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão
Giovanelli will make his European racing debut after several years developing his career in his native Argentina. His journey began in 2023, when he contested the final rounds of the Sport Prototipo championship. There, Giovanelli quickly stood out, achieving strong results from his very first appearances. One year later, the Buenos Aires-born driver completed a full season, narrowly missing out on the SP3 title by just a few points. Also in 2024, he competed in F3 Metropolitana, Argentina’s most competitive single-seater championship. In 2025, the Argentine driver combined a partial campaign in F3 Metropolitana with an extensive testing programme in EuroCup-3 with GRS Team. As a result, Giovanelli heads into his race debut already familiar with both the previous-generation car and the new Dallara 326, as well as two of the three circuits on the EuroCup-3 SWC calendar, where he has had the opportunity to test over the past year.
“I am very happy to be competing in one of the best categories in the world. It has undoubtedly been a long preparation process and a huge collective effort to reach this day. I would like to thank my team for this great project and my family for always being by my side. Let’s go, Argentina!”. – Gianni Giovanelli, driver.
Stevenheydens, meanwhile, is also a familiar face within GRS Team. After finishing runner-up in the 2024 French Formula 4 Championship, the young Belgian talent stepped up to EuroCup-3 with GRS. He impressed from his very first weekend with the team, showing strong pace and huge potential in the final round of the SWC. When the main season began, Stevenheydens opened with an excellent weekend at the Red Bull Ring, qualifying inside the Top 3 and scoring points in both races. Despite not contesting the full season, Yani made a strong impression in every appearance on track. His pre-season pace with the Dallara 326 has also been outstanding.
“I am really happy to be back with GRS for the start of the 2026 season. It feels great to return to a familiar environment where we already have strong foundations, which will only help us keep improving. With the new Dallara car putting everyone on a level playing field, I’m confident that together we can fight for strong results and push the car to the front”. – Yani Stevenheydens, driver.

“We head into the 2026 season with a very strong driver line-up. Both Gianni and Yani have been integrated into the team’s day-to-day operations for the past year, so having them debut the new EuroCup-3 car is the right decision. Gianni has made significant progress since joining us in March 2025, and we believe this is the ideal moment for his debut, while Yani has proven to be a guarantee of performance and professionalism. It is a pleasure to count on both of them for this new challenge, and we are ready for the season to begin”. – Josep Trinidad, CEO & Team Manager.
