The fifth round took us to the historic British circuit, where GRS had an incident-free yet difficult weekend, in which there was no real opportunity to score more points.
The fifth round of the 2026 EuroCup-3 season took place over the weekend of September 11–13. The championship raced at Silverstone for the first time in its history. For GRS, it marked the team’s first visit to the British circuit since 2019, when it competed there in the Formula Renault Eurocup.
The venue made this a particularly special weekend. Silverstone is a circuit renowned for its history and for each of its iconic corners, including legendary names such as Copse and the Maggots and Becketts complex. To take on this challenge, the team fielded the same driver pairing that represented our colours in the previous round at Monza. Rayan Caretti arrived for the second half of the season in excellent form after scoring points in the previous two events, while Dani Maciá returned to the wheel of the No. 70 car following a strong performance in Italy.
Track action got underway on Friday. The drivers had less preparation than usual, with only one pre-event test session in the morning before heading into the two qualifying sessions. It was a difficult day for GRS, as Maciá was forced to start Race 1 from the Pit Lane due to track limits infringements, while he qualified P27 in the second session. Caretti, meanwhile, secured P19 for the first race and P22 for the second.
The two races took place on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. In the first of them, Caretti spent the entire race battling in the midfield and ultimately finished in the same position from which he started, 19th. Maciá, meanwhile, had to fight his way through from the back of the field and managed to reach the Top 25. However, another track limits penalty dropped him to a final P26.
Sunday arrived and the team wrapped up the weekend with a mixed-weather race. It was not raining, but the track was damp enough to put on the wet weather tyres on. Our driver improved their starting positions in a race in which it was difficult to gain spots. Rayan finished in P20 with Dani in P27.
This brings the fifth round of the EuroCup-3 season to an end. It was a challenging weekend for the team, but one in which every member gave more than 100% to remain competitive despite the limited preparation. We will continue working in the right direction to finish the season with the best possible momentum.
EuroCup-3 now enters the final stages of the season. The sixth round will take place over the weekend of September 26–27. The Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto will host the next event, which will be the final round of the season to feature three races in a single weekend.
