The 2025 season of the Spanish Rally Raid Championship (CERTT) came to a close with Rallye TT de Cuenca, an event in which GRS celebrated a podium finish in its class.
Held on October 3–4, the Rallye TT de Cuenca, one of the most iconic events in Spanish cross-country rallying, marked the final round of the CERTT season.
GRS Team took part in the rally, making its fourth appearance in a CERTT event this year. However, for the first time in 2025, the team competed with two cars. The #406 featured the team’s regular pairing, with Josep Trinidad behind the wheel and Sergi Brugué as co-driver. Meanwhile, the #409 was driven by Manuel Aviñó, President of the Spanish Motorsport Federation (RFEdA), alongside co-driver José Ignacio Ramírez. Both crews competed in the T4 class with a CanAm Maverick X3.
The action began on Friday with the Prologue Stage, which determined the starting order for Saturday. Over the 10 timed kilometres, both GRS cars performed well, finishing inside the Top 20. The day concluded with the official starting ceremony.
The entire rally took place on Saturday, featuring two 190-kilometer Special Stages in a demanding and action-packed day. In SS1, Aviñó and Ramírez showed strong pace, finishing 8th overall and securing 3rd place in the T4 class, proving the duo’s potential to fight for a podium. Meanwhile, the #406 of Trinidad and Brugué was forced to retire from the stage due to a double puncture, but the team’s outstanding repair work allowed them to rejoin for SS2.
In the second Special Stage, the #409 crew continued to impress, finishing once again inside the overall Top 10. In T4, their closest rival closed the gap but couldn’t overtake them, confirming the team’s podium finish, a memorable result for GRS. On the other hand, the #406’s effort came to an early end after suffering brake issues that forced a definitive retirement.
GRS concludes its rally raid season with its best result to date. Despite one of the cars being sidelined by mechanical setbacks, it was a highly positive weekend overall. Ending our second year in the CERTT with such a strong performance is a major morale boost, fuelling even greater motivation heading into the 2026 season. The team continues to learn with every event in this challenging and fascinating championship, and we look forward to coming back stronger next year.
