Maximilian Popov to make EuroCup-3 debut with GRS Team in Barcelona

The young driver, coming from Italian Formula 4, will take a major step forward in his career by competing in the final round of the EuroCup-3 season, to be held on November 15–16 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

GRS Team is pleased to announce the arrival of Maximilian Popov to the team. The young driver from Grenada will compete with GRS in EuroCup-3 during the weekend of November 15-16, when the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya hosts the season finale. For Popov, this will mark his debut in the championship, closing a successful chapter in Formula 4 and opening a new stage in his promising career. For the team, his addition represents a satisfying way to end what has been a challenging 2025, particularly in EuroCup-3.

Popov, 17, makes the step up to EuroCup-3 after spending the past two years competing in multiple Formula 4 championships. His 2025 season has seen an impressive improvement in performance, with a total of eight podium finishes across Italian F4, E4, and Formula Winter Series. Overall, Popov finished within the top eight in the standings of all three championships.

GRS Team returns to EuroCup-3 alongside Popov after missing some of the recent rounds. The team has endured a tough year in this championship but aims to end the season -the last before the new era of EuroCup-3- with a positive weekend. For Maximilian, this event will also be a great opportunity to shine and gain experience ahead of his move to the Formula Regional European Championship, where he will compete in 2026. Popov has already tested the car, showing good pace and promising feedback.

“Competing in EuroCup-3 is a very exciting opportunity for me. I’m very happy to join GRS for the Barcelona round, and I’m ready to work hard and aim for the best possible result.” — Maximilian Popov, Driver

“We are very pleased to welcome Maximilian to the team, and we are determined to make his EuroCup-3 debut a positive experience in his development as a driver. We have great confidence in his potential and the performance he has shown in recent years, and we believe strong results can be achieved in Barcelona.” — Josep Trinidad, CEO & Team Manager
