Jakob Bergmeister joins GRS Team to race in the next EuroCup-3 round

The young German talent will make his debut in the category by competing in the second round of the season, starting this weekend at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.

GRS Team is pleased to announce the arrival of Jakob Bergmeister to the team. The German driver joins GRS to contest the next round of the EuroCup-3 season, taking place from June 5–7 at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão. Bergmeister will make his debut in the championship and will partner Rayan Caretti within the team.

Bergmeister, aged 20, began his motorsport journey with a highly successful karting career. Between 2014 and 2022, he secured multiple titles in his native Germany, as well as several victories at international level. In 2021, he was crowned champion of the prestigious DKM in the KZ2 class. He then made his single-seater debut in 2023, finishing as the Euroformula Open Rookie of the Year after securing fifth place in the overall standings with three podium finishes. The following season, Bergmeister remained in Euroformula Open and added a further seven podiums, including one race win, on his way to fourth place in the championship.

The young German talent now returns to competition to make his EuroCup-3 debut. His single-seater experience will undoubtedly be a valuable asset for the team, especially considering the similarities between the car used in EuroCup-3 since 2026 and the one Jakob raced in 2024 and 2025, both manufactured by Dallara.

“I’m really looking forward to joining GRS Team and would like to thank everyone for this great opportunity. I have great confidence in the team and I’m excited to start working together. We will give everything to achieve strong results in the upcoming EuroCup-3 round”. – Jakob Bergmeister, driver.

“We are delighted to welcome Jakob to GRS Team. We are highly motivated to start working with him and confident that we can achieve strong results together. The team has made a positive start to the new era of EuroCup-3, and Jakob’s arrival provides an additional boost for everyone within the organisation to keep pushing at the highest level and provide him with the best possible environment to showcase his potential on track”. – Josep Trinidad, CEO & Team Manager.

This weekend, EuroCup-3 heads to the spectacular Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão for the second round of the season. GRS Team will be aiming to build on its results so far in both EuroCup-3 and the Formula 4 Spanish Championship, which is also racing at the Portuguese venue this weekend.
